I have worn many hats in my life, but I can't just be satisfied with just one. Most things in life are worth the struggle, and no one will help me or hold my hand, so I (mostly) do it all. Will fight engineers and users for change. (ง'̀-'́)ง

I forgot NJ is funded exclusively by tolls, and now I am going to jail forever. :'(

Happy November! I hope each and everyone of you is doing well! Tis' the time of year where I tighten my shoelaces extra tight, and grin and bear it as my job locks me down for the holiday season. As much as I love working for Amazon this is the part of the year I really don't like, but that is the beast of it and how I get paid to do things I love to do when NOT working there!

Speaking of which, Here is some stuff I am working on!

Since Unity came up in a negative light in the news recently, a free competitor floated to the surface lately called Godot had been getting great traction. I already knew Godot from playing some games here on NewGrounds and on steam there is game based on that engine called Dome Keeper (that I just can't put down when I start it up!). I always fantasized about making my own video game waaaaay back then, and since I really don't have a lot to do right now, I decided it was now or never to learn how this worked, and how I can leverage it to make something fun! (tm). I have so far gotten the gist of how buttons and scenes and animation sprites work, and I am doing my best to memorize strings of code to make it work. I'll post more on my progress later this month!

Animation-wise, I think I have made some leaps and bounds! I have been getting to know Clip Studio Paint a little bit better through the help of some collaborators I worked with recently on little things here and there. I wish I could discuss it more (but why ruin the surprise?). What you see above is a test of sorts utilizing the camera function and some other tween trickery. I do have a couple other pencil tests of non-tween stuff, but I'll hold off on sharing those until later. :)

I am trying to write a script for something original and have been trying to dedicate at least an hour a day to it, but I am kinda not satisfied with many of the start attempts I do. On one hand, my life is pretty unique and filled with a lot of unhappiness, and its very... erm... unrelatable to most people. At this point, I think writing fiction is a bit better for cartoons anyhow-- and may decide to toss it and write something else on a more brighter note. :)

Now, on to more neat NewGroundsier stuff! :D

Kamen Rider loose sketch animation of the original ending sequence.

Have you ever heard of Kamen Rider? Its a 70's show based in japan which was basically the prototype for what we disgusting westerners know as Power Rangers! Another NewGrounder introduced me to it like a little kid screaming her head off about how great it was yadda yadda yadda, so I just had to watch it, and I am pretty impressed with it!

The Synopsis is that the main character is a man who is part-time motorcyclist and 200+IQ scientist (yeah, we are kinda stretching it here haha) who was kidnapped by an evil organization called "SHOCKER" which wants to transform humanity into slave cyborgs and take over the world! However, halfway through the process the main character escapes, but now has the body of a cyborg and now can never marry or do any of that cool human stuff. So he vows to get revenge on those that hurt him and his fellow humans and turns into "The Kamen Rider! (Masked Rider)".

Anyhow, why am I telling you this? Well, There is a COLLAB for the aforementioned series being run by Chunky7453. If you like what you see in the videos and want to get on the action, PLEASE DO! I was told by someone else that pretty much no one has really submitted anything yet... so... give it a go? :)

Also:

@Stormydew is looking for a musician for her next flash based video game!

@PinClock released a shoot'em up game called JoHou Battle! So far so good! Give it a go!

And Finally-- The NG Money Gang has been called upon again to help sponsor its next target, go read Tom's blog-- you know where it is... you literally live in his house you bunch of stalkers. :P

---

PS. Please be mindful of your fellow human being around this time of year-- some of us enter a period of winter depression and the holidays sometimes don't make people joyous... but rather they are put in despair because of things outside their control. Some of them don't have friends or family they can see everyday (or at all.) So... be there when the moment calls for it.

Drink plenty of water, wear lip balm,

you know i can voice a project for you if you want

I'll keep you mind. But I kinda need to write the damn thing first. :P

Hell yeah, NJ was funded by f@$king tolls! There’s this one road where if you don’t take the hard left side of the fork in the split second it appears on view, you’re gonna have take a toll ticket and enter another toll booth to pay $1.30! Got screwed over TWICE by that!

I haven't done a lot of travel in the years during and after Covid, and I usually had an EZpass that helped with dealing with the PA Turnpike and the occasion dip into Jersey and NY.

@RaverNG I don’t usually travel much either: I only came to NJ for a very special occasion. While I don’t mind stopping and paying my toll, what really got on my nerves was that toll vortex that can catch you if you’re not paying attention. EZPass or not, I would’ve got screwed by that road regardless!

Awesome to see you getting into game development!
I wish you the best of luck with your future games!

Damn, you're a multi talent person

It keeps me busy for sure. :)
