AI will not replace human expertise. It is just a tool and I know I am almost better than AI when it comes to forecasting.

If AI can take over your role, then it only adds value to society at the cost of a cutting a few entry level job positions.

Your feelings are understandable, a lot of talented people I know are worried about the future. In fact, as a programmer, its changed the trajectory of my career and I don't plan on retiring for at least 30 years. In the coming decades I expect to be involved with AI as it gets better and better, and I'd better keep up, or else I may end up being deemed "obsolete" by non-programmers, despite my resume having very notable game studios and reliable references on it. There's creative ways I can work with AI and I have a few prototypes, but I need to prove that we make a great team, and that it's clueless alone.

I don't mean to scare you, but that's where the problem lies: these tools being in the hands of billionaires who don't know the first thing about what it's making. I don't know if you've seen Secret Invasion on Disney Plus, but the intro was done in AI, and it looks like dogshit.

At the same time, what I really like about AI is that it can be a useful tool to get a second opinion, like a personal assistant giving their thoughts and you can any of it with a grain of salt. That is what AI should be about first: an educational tool, not something to replace a person. Unfortunately, if they see it as a way to save money over hiring a human, that's exactly what they'll do.

AI will continue to get better, but I am a believer that it will never, ever replace what human beings are capable of doing, no matter how much time passes and no matter how much you "train" it. It does not comprehend the human experience (for better or worse), and it does not have a personality. Your human experience is unique and is reflected in your art, and that goes for everyone else. Channeling that is how you will beat AI.

Take a stand. Show what you are capable of doing that AI can never replicate. It's not going to be easy and it will get discouraging, but you and everyone else must not give up.
